Pulse Oximetry

pulse oximetryPulse Oximetry is the process of monitoring a patients oxygenation of hemoglobin. This is a procedure that is non-invasive and is often used in critical care units. It measures the amount of hemoglobin molecules tht have bound with oxygen molecules. A sensor is place on the patinets ear lobe or fingertip where it can easily measure blood pulses and the color of these pulse which determines if the hemoglobin molecules have bound with oxygen or not. We use state-of-the-art Pulse Oximetry Equipment to ensure the best results. It measures the levels and gives a printout which includes the date, time, oxygen level and pulse rate.

When It's Used

Pulse oximetry is often used when the patients breathing is unstable. It is portable and can monitor the amount of oxygen in the blood stream. Here are some of the most common times pulse oximetry is used.

  • Intensive Care Unit
  • Surgery
  • Emergency/Hospital Wards
  • Emergencis on Air Craft
